Further information on enrolling at our school and enrolling in Prep is available.

Exemptions from compulsory schooling

Every parent of a child of compulsory school age has a legal obligation to ensure their child is enrolled and attending school.   However, parents can apply for an exemption from this obligation when their child cannot attend school due to family, cultural or religious reasons.  An application for exemption for a child or young person enrolled in a Queensland State School is to be lodged with the Principal for any periods of more than ten consecutive school days.

The school Principal may grant an exemption with or without special conditions.  The school Principal is not responsible for providing an educational program to any child exempt from compulsory schooling.   Parents are urged to contact the Brisbane School of Distance Education website for information on accessing the appropriate curriculum while on extended exemptions from school.
