Children from Year 3 to Year 6 have the opportunity to participate in our Instrumental Music Program (fees may apply).
Year 3
Students are offered the opportunity to play Strings, Woodwind and Brass instruments. Free half hour group lessons are conducted by a String Teacher from Education Queensland during the school day. Woodwind and Brass lessons are conducted in small groups by two private teachers for a nominal fee during the school day.
Years 4 - 6
Students are offered the opportunity to play Strings, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion. Free half hour group lessons are conducted by Instrumental Teachers from Education Queensland during the school day.
Selection of students
At the end of each year, a letter is sent home to all parents whose children have expressed an interest in learning an instrument the following year. Where the number of applications exceed places available in the program, a selection process is utilised. (For more information please contact the Music Office)
