Ascot Swim Club is a junior amateur swim club proudly run by Ascot State School P&C since 1973.
We
pride ourselves on providing a fun, supportive and social environment
for both the swimmers and parents alike with the emphasis being on
encouraging each individual swimmer to try their best and focus on
improving their own times.
Our goal is to introduce kids to the
sport of swimming in a family friendly environment helping each swimmer
to gain confidence in the pool and experience the wonderful joy of
achieving a PB (Personal Best). We also offer the opportunity for
members to swim competitively at Interclub meets throughout the season.
We
welcome swimmers of all levels and abilities aged 4-12 years old and
you do not need to be a student at Ascot SS to join Ascot Swim Club. It
is open to the entire local community as well so grab your friends and
come along for a fun evening by the pool. For new families to Ascot
Swim Club, once you have completed the membership form you can then come
along and try out a meet night before your membership fees are due
which is the perfect option for those wanting to give it a go.
Ascot
Swim Club is a truly great community and provides the perfect balance
of competitive swimming and an enjoyable social wind down to end the
week.
We welcome everyone to come along and join in the fun and we look forward to seeing you at the pool!
What do Ascot Swim Club nights look like:
Club
Nights are held most Friday afternoons throughout Terms 4 and 1 and
kick off with a 30-minute Free Swim where any swim club member can enter
the pool, supervised by their parents or carer. It is always a great
opportunity for swimmers to spend time with their friends and warm up
for their races.
Our races commence after the Free Swim starting
with the 12 ½ metre events, perfect for our younger club members
(usually aged 4 and 5). These young swimmers are guided in the water by
our older club members to ensure they feel safe and confident. This is a
great introduction to the sport of swimming as it is a lot of fun and
you do not need to nominate for these events. After the 12 ½ metre
races are completed, the 25m, 50m, and 100m races start.
Our Meets usually finish at 7:30pm but our younger swimmers often finish earlier.
Mums,
Dads, Grandparents, and friends of our swimmers are all invited to join
us at the Meets and cheer on the swimmers. The Club serves up a
delicious BBQ and well stocked canteen at the Meet events so you can
enjoy a meal while watching the races.
